This cave is a historical site that should be preserved. In the past, it used to be a guerrilla headquarters of Prince Diponegoro due to the struggle against the Dutch colonial during the war (1825-1830). Diponegoro moved to Selarong after his home at Tegalrejo was destroyed by the Dutch. The cave is located at 14 kilometres south of Yogyakarta, on the top of a hill with plenty of Guava trees.
